I don’t usually share birthday musings, but this one feels different.
I was born in France, just south of Paris, and decades later, I find myself writing the stories of women who fought to save it from Nazi Occupation—sometimes in silence, sometimes in defiance.
Maybe it’s coincidence. Or maybe the first air you breathe never really leaves you.
France was my beginning. And the echoes of that country—its losses, its bravery—still shape the women I write.
📖 The Call of Destiny, Codename Violette is coming soon. And somehow, Muriel Byck’s story feels like it ties everything together.
